Let's talk about...Jewellery

How strange that although so much time passed between last post and this one, I hardly feel like I did anything at all - although I've been working really hard, it's been so focused on functionality of collection that it doesn't feel like there has been that much creative development. I will start with some nice visuals of my engagement rings.

 Let's start today's post with a bit of history. William Dudley was a merchant and jeweller working in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter. In 1875, a year before his death he founded William Dudley Trust. This year Trust has generously agreed to provide some bursaries for students on the Design for Industry course from School of Jewellery, Birmingham.
 Before Easter holidays I've sent off my application for Final Degree Module award. I wasn't too sure if anything would come out of it, but the award would offer me wider range of opportunities in terms of finalising and preparing my final collection - The Garden of your Heart. I was so happy to hear today that I've got awarded, that even horrible rain and long wait in the traffic didn't destroy my mood.


Now I have even more motivation to do my best at this project. Look out for my next post about engagement rings!

I hope all of you enjoyed Easter, because I certainly did - I decided to set myself a target of not doing any work during holidays and having a nice relaxing time in preparation for the final term before summer. I got some reading done (I'm currently on the final novel from the Witcher series - you might have heard of the game) and a bit of drawing not school based, so I'm very proud of myself. It was well deserved break, and I've been catching on some work during this last week of my holiday. I finally found a bit of time to update my blog. So here you go - I've made some significant changes to my design as you will see.
